DESCRIPTION:Estudio Yucca\, Tavira\, Algarve\, Portugal\n\n\nWelcome to this first CONTACTANGO intensive workshop with Gabriele Koch\, in Estúdio Yucca\, Tavira\,(Algarve\, Portugal) from 12th to 15th of October!\n\nContacTango is the synergy of two dance forms: the flowing and movement of Contact Improvisation through all levels and directions\, blended with the structure of Tango\, which unfolds in the poetry of shared walking in the embrace and playing with the music. Both dances share the aspect of improvisation in connection and togetherness.\nThis intensive workshop provides ample time to delve into the depth of sensing the shared axis in Tango\, to find a delicate connection\, and to explore playfully with music and Tango elements. Similarly\, we will let this flow into Contact Improvisation and explore from light to very deep connection through skin\, fascia\, muscle and bone towards small lifts and leans.\nWe will grow from simplicity into playfulness. We explore topics like spirals\, momentum\, empty space\, following and leading\, dynamics\, sharing\, taking and giving weight\, stability and letting go and more in Tango as well as in Contact Improvisation. From the vast array of possibilities in Gaby’s repertoire\, she adapts to what the group needs and desires.\nGabriele Koch lives in Wuppertal\, Germany. She has been dancing and teaching dance for 25 years\, with 20 years dedicated to Tango and approximately the same amount of time researching ContacTango. For the past 11 years\, she has been the founder and organizer of the international Festival of Contact and Tango\, which has moved from Wuppertal to Beichlingen. The festival is dedicated to lively exchange and research in the realm of Contactango. Gaby is currently undergoing training as a Somatic Movement Practitioner and has long incorporated the connection with our body into her work.
